    - The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) aims to encourage giving, social investment and the effective use of funds. Provides a range of services and resources with a focus on helping charities attract and manage donations.

    - The Charity Commission for England and Wales is established by law as the regulator and registrar of charities in England and Wales. A range of publications and guidance are available and you can search the register of charities online.

    - Community Foundations are grant making charities located across the UK. They manage funds donated by individuals and organisations and target grants that make a genuine difference to the lives of local people. You can find your local Community Foundation through this site.

    - The new free web site managed by NCVO and funded by the Office of the Third Sector. It provides information on sources of income, focusing on grants, contracts and loan finance, plus tools and resources.
  • Fundinginformation.org   You have to pay to access the information 
    - A subscription news and information service about raising funds. It tracks information about funding from grant-making trusts, companies, European funds, government schemes and National Lottery Boards. Regularly updated, the annual subscription starts at £100 + VAT for small organisations.

    - A new, free online tool to help small and medium-sized charities to analyse the potential success of their fundraising strategies. The Fundraising Health is an automated program that analyses income and expenditure data supplied by fundraisers and produces a printable report outlining weaknesses and recommendations for improvement. It analyses two aspects of charity finances - net income and investment.
  • Fundraising.co.uk   You have to pay to access the information 
    - Fundraising UK Ltd is a commercial UK Internet fundraising consultancy. Some information available free, including Fundraising News a fortnightly e newsletter.

    - The Funds for Historic Buildings website is a comprehensive guide to funding for anyone seeking to repair, restore or convert for a new use any historic building in the United Kingdom (excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) which is listed, scheduled or in a conservation area and of acknowledged historic merit.
  • Giving world online.com   
    - Free surplus stock from UK businesses available to charities through this website. Firms list unwanted stock, such as clothing or furniture and charities can then claim them on a first-come, first-served basis. Organisations that use the site must agree to use the items to support beneficiaries and not to sell them for profit.

  • Green Communities   Search facility available 
    - Part of the Energy Saving Trust which helps to promote and facilitate community-based energy projects. Their database can be searched for funding for sustainable energy projects such as energy efficiency, insulation and draftproofing.
  • Guide to Procurement Law   
    - Pathways through the Maze – a Guide to Procurement Law, written by Anthony Collins Solicitors, aims to help voluntary groups understand the legal and practical issues of public sector contracting. It is free to download from the NCVO and Navca websites.
  • Huddle - online collaboration tools   Tools available to download (more than information, things that help you to do something) 
    - Huddle is an online collaboration, online project management and document sharing facility using social networking principles. Registered Charities can access the tools for free and Charity Technology Exchange is encouraging greater use. This link takes you to further information about what is available and how you might use it as well as providing links to the various tools.

    - A Guide to Giving is a free handbook for anyone who would like to support charities and good causes effectively. Part of Philanthropy UK’s website - a resource offering free and impartial advice to aspiring philanthropists who want to give effectively.

    - The Institute of Fundraising is the professional body for UK fundraising. It supports fundraisers and good practice in fundraising. A range of guides and codes of practice relating to fundraising are available on this site.
  • KnowHow NonProfit   
    - KnowHow NonProfit is a Big Lottery funded project to help nonprofit making organisations become more effective. The idea of the site is to connect people and share their knowledge and experience. There is a whole section on funding and fundraising.
  • London's Poverty Profile   
    - Created by the City Parochial Foundation and the New Policy Institute, the website provides information about areas such as health, housing, homelessness, education, unemployment and low pay. The profile is also available as a printed report, which can be downloaded from the website.
